Holiday Party Footwear

No holiday outfit is complete without the perfect accessory and yes, ladies I'm talking about the ultimate accessory: shoes!

Here are my top 5 shoes from holiday collections ranging from high end to supremely affordable:

Nothing says, "I have arrived in style," more than these gorgeous suede cutout sandals by Giuseppe Zanotti. These shoes mix edgy cutouts with a bright red that will have you feeling and looking stunningly sexy against the background of a white Christmas.

Where to wear: Company holiday parties or a rocking club to bring in the new year.

It's all about black and gold this holiday season! You are going to see this beautiful combination everywhere and out of all the pretty shoes to choose from this pair by Ivanka Trump was my favorite. I ordered them online and plan on wearing them to my Christmas Eve and maybe even NYE parties! I know it's a little faux pas to wear the same shoes to two different parties, but they're so pretty.

Where to wear: For New Year's Eve at a hotel or restaurant or a family holiday party.

You may have heard it over and over again but oxblood red is the color of the season. And now you can deck the halls in these adorable yet affordable t-strap pumps available at Payless from the Christian Siriano collection.

Where to wear: To any holiday party or private home.

Rock around that Christmas tree in these gorgeous green Jimmy Choos. And you'll be stepping out into the hottest color of 2013: emerald green (as dubbed by Pantone, the authority of color.)

Where to wear: Black tie parties and anywhere you decide to ring in the new year (even if it's at home in your bed.)

We can't forget about metallics when it comes to any kind of celebration and this pair of Emery by Shoemint is the perfect dazzling accessory to make your holiday season sparkle.

Where to wear: To any nighttime party or event whether it's holiday related or not!

Happy holidays darlings! And remember it's best to be overdressed than underdressed when it comes to this season of celebrations.

I would love to see pictures of your holiday outfits so feel free to share them with me by tweeting me (@yourgotogal) or emailing me (ygtgal@gmail.com.)

Cinderella's Slippers: A Dream Come True

Today I'm honored to be sharing this post on Da Mouse to celebrate Disney's Diamond Edition Blu Ray Combo Pack release of one of its most beloved fairy tales ever, Cinderella.

We all know the rags-to-riches story of a young girl, whose evil stepmother along with her two equally evil and less than beautiful stepsisters that make her life impossible and treat her like their own personal slave.

Major spoiler alert: All that changes one night when she gets a visit from her fairy godmother and is transformed into the belle of the ball but loses her shoe at midnight. Later that very same shoe transforms her entire life and she lives happily ever after with her prince.
It's because of Disney's Cinderella, that a lot of girls grew up wanting to find Prince Charming. Nowadays, fashionistas, myself included grow up wanting to find the perfect pair of glass slippers (the search for the prince can wait!)

Earlier this year, designers Marc Jacobs and Christian Louboutin created their own interpretation of Cinderella's glass slipper.

Marc Jacobs PVC Slippers
Marc Jacobs created a pair of almost identical slippers to the ones that Cindy wears using PVC, a type of plastic that is way more comfy than glass could ever be. These slippers sold out for the cool price of $595.
Mr. Louboutin interpreted the slippers slightly different but just as stunning and he did so in honor of the film's re-release this month.

 Louboutin Sketch

Louboutin's Cinderella Inspired Slippers
Known for his signature red soles, Louboutin honored the Disney classic by creating a white lace peep-toe pump with Swarovski crystals and butterflies.
While some of us would shell out the dough that these pairs cost-- not all of us have checking accounts fit for a princess-- cue in DSW.

DSW also teamed up with Disney for a limited edition glass slipper collection. The DSW Glass Slipper Collection consists of five pairs, which colors, details and textures were inspired by elements of the classic flick.

With no glass slippers (or PVC for that matter) in sight, this collection is very budget friendly, even if you still haven't met your prince, ranging from $59.95 to $89.95. The collection is now available at stores and online.

Here are the shoes:

The Cinderella Pump

The Royal Pump

The Romance Sandal

The Charming Sandal

The Princess Sandal

What do you think of the DSW collection? Which designer created the best slipper?
I want to thank Da Mouse for letting me contribute this fashion report. And for all the latest Disney scoop make sure you visit Da Mouse.

Friday Faves: August Acquisitions

Hi dolls!

August isn't even over, and I'm already hard at work picking up a few of my fall wardrobe items and accessories.

Because I live in Miami I get away with wearing a lot of open toe shoes that I know my snowbird buddies in northern cities can't. The downside is I can't rock my boots (btw: I'm a boot lover) until the weather starts to cool off, but I usually can't wait that long and I bust them out around October. After all it's fall (as garnered by Mother Nature and meteorologists) by October.

In honor of Friday, the best day of the week, here are my favorite things to get me ready for the fall!

Favorite Nail Lacquers:

Deborah Lippman for HSN Forsaken Bad Things Mini Trio

Strange Love

All of these shades are great for the fall. Look out for next Mani-c Monday's picture, which will feature the middle color, a shimmery magenta.

Colors from left to right: Bad Blood, Strange Love and New Flesh.

Favorite Animal Print:

Vince Camuto Jamma Stud Bow Pumps

Girls if you know me then you know I love shoes, I love animal prints and I love studs. Put them together on a stylish pump and it becomes a must have.

Favorite Accessory:

Jewelmint's Giza Ring

This heavy metal ring will bring out the rock star in you. Not only is it gorgeous and unique, but it's also made very well. I was completely surprised by this purchase. JewelMint really does offer good quality products at great prices.

Favorite Fragrance:

Dot by Marc Jacobs

I waited such a long time for this perfume to come out that when it finally came out I forgot that it was out. So imagine how pleasantly surprised I was when I saw it at Macy's last week.

I tested it out on my wrist, decided to walk around the store in search of a present and let it set. When I was on my way out I decided to sniff my wrist and I loved how it smelled, so I bought it.  The scent is very sweet, so if sweet isn't your thing than this scent isn't for you.

Favorite Jewel Tone Sandals:

Steve Madden Buzzzer Pump

These shoes just came in this week and I was so happy to see how green they are. The picture on the Nordstrom site made it look like an aqua color, which I had no problem with, but they are a gorgeous bright green.

I have the perfect LBD to rock them with!

Now I'm just missing my perfect boots and a few scarves and I'm almost ready for my favorite season of the year: fall. Are you ready?

Meet ya right here with the next Friday faves segment!

Bloomingdale's: The Outlet Store Review

My love for Bloomies is second to none, in fact this was the store that got me into a lot of financial trouble, but hello can you blame a girl. Bloomingdale's has a great selection of everything that I love!

So when I found out last November that the department giant had opened its first 2 of 4 Bloomingdale's The Outlet Stores in South Florida, I was excited.

Sure it  took me 7 months to make my first visit, but I'm not a fan of either malls, where the stores were opened (Dolphin Mall and Sawgrass Mall--eek!)

Last weekend I was finally able to check out the store in Dolphin Mall and decided that I had to report my findings to my girls.

I was immediately drawn in by the display of L.A.M.B. shoes at the entrance (and no there was no sign that indicated that the pairs on display were L.A.M.B., but I know my shoes.)
Main entrance of Bloomingdale's The Outlet Store located in Dolphin Mall

For the most part, I have a love/hate relationship with outlet stores, but it's mostly hate because I feel these stores promise you the world, and they never deliver (such as Saks Fifth Avenue's Off the 5th, Nordstrom Rack and Neiman Marcus' Last Call.) But this was Bloomies, so I went in with a positive attitude because after all I'm a Bloomies aficionada.

I don't know if I've metioned it or not, but I suffer from chronic OCD and I can't handle messy or dirty places, especially if I'm trying to get my shop on, but my first impression of this outlet store was: "Wow this store is amazingly neat and organized, especially for being such a huge place.

After being talked out of buying the L.A.M.B. shoes that I had already fallen in love, I made my way down the shoe department, which was also surprisingly neat and spacious, but not very interesting.

Snapshot of the women's shoe department

BTW: This store does not want the consumer to forget that it is an outlet store, so they have signs posted everywhere like the one below:

You can also receive a $20 certificate off a $100 purchase just for signing up to their newsletter.

After shoes, naturally I headed to their accessories department, which was very sad. You won't find a huge array of brands or purses or jewelry  (it was so sad, that I couldn't even bring myself to taking pictures of it.)
My girlfriend who was on a mission to find a sexy top for her outting that night, also left empty handed as there was not a huge selection of sexy.

I, on the other hand fell in love with the dress pictured below. Bloomingdale's The Outlet Store claims that everything is 35-70% off retail prices.
Hands down this was the best thing I found, aside from the pretty pair of L.A.M.B. shoes. Still, I couldn't bring myself to pay more than $100 for a brand I had never even heard of.

The front of the bright clam colored dress. This color looks great on both fair skinned and darker toned
people.

The back of the fabulous clam colored dress that would go great with a pair of gold strappy sandals and a bold cocktail ring. What would you wear it with?

As you all know, I'm a creature of habit and visuals, if you want my attention put something pretty in front of me and I'm like a moth to a flame. The store's display tables did not disappoint. See for yourself:

Cute and appropriate for the summer season, not like some other outlet stores that highlight their winter looks in the middle of summer.

By this time, my girlfriend and I had split up and I was doing my best to take in as much of the store as possible, but I sort of got lost in the denim section. I love denim, especially if it's premium denim.

Denim Shop

They have a lot of jeans and brands to select from at reasonable prices, and don't forget the $20 off your $100 purchase, you can walk out with a pair of cute JBrand jeans for $80--now that's what I call a good deal.

Are you planning on taking a trip to find thrifty things? Here are a few things you should remember when hitting up Bloomingdale's The Outlet Store:

Pros:
  • It's a huge store with the possibility of finding a lot of great items, but make sure you give yourself a good 2-3 hours minimum to go through the merchandise in the various departments.
  • The store has a good layout and virtually has signs all over the store to help you navigate through it.
  • Again, I can't stress the importance of a neat and organized store, which makes for a happy shopping experience.
  •  Don't forget to take advantage of the $20 off any $100 purchase
Cons:
  • Not a huge or great selection on shoes, handbags or jewelry
  • There's only one fitting room section for each sex and they are sort of hidden, so you might have to ask a sales associate for direction.
  • Speaking of sales associates, they weren't much of help or welcoming. The members on the floor in this particular store were too caught up in their conversations with one another to even take a minute to greet you or ask if you need help.
Now that you're in the know you are all ready for your trip to the Bloomingdale's The Outlet Store and you are armed with a plan of attack.

As for me, once again I walked away empty handed from an outlet store, but that never stops me from checking out the next one.

I'm on to the next one.
